There are two credit reporting agencies in Canada – Equifax and TransUnion. Credit reports can be accessed for free by requesting a “Consumer Credit Report” from Equifax and a “Consumer Disclosure” from TransUnion. Ordering a free credit report from each can be a good idea, as potential landlords may prefer one over the other.
